On Wednesday, May 8th the Daytime Emmy Nominations were announced on Kathie Lee and Hoda. “The Young and the Restless” garnered sixteen (16) nominations; Christel nabbed one in the category of Outstanding Younger Actress. CKnet caught up with Christel to congratulate her on her nomination and to also ask her some questions which she was kind enough to answer.

CKnet:How did you hear about your nomination?

Christel Khalil: I heard about my nomination through Maria bell. Who called me and told me first. It was 7:30am an the first call of the day. Not a bad one!!

CKnet: What reel did you submit?

CK: I submitted the scene where I tell “dead” Cane to leave me alone and then check myself into the insane asylum.

CKnet: Emmy’s is all about the fashion and the awards so any thought on what you will be wearing?

CK: Have no idea what I’ll be wearing yet. I usually wait till the last minute.

Thanks again to Christel for answering our quick questions. Fingers and toes crossed that Christel will walk away with the Emmy statue for her performance. The Daytime Emmys will take place in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, June 23rd at the Beverly Hilton. There is no word as of yet if they will be televised. We will be sure to update should they be televised.

Thank goodness for the weekend and what a great way to end it with some unbearably cute scans of Christel along with Michael for the current issue of CBS Soaps In Depth (05.21.12) on news stands now!

In the Mother’s Day article Christel is featured along with Genie Francis, Jennifer Gareis, Katherine Kelly Lang, Melissa Claire Egan, and Kim Matula.

Also for the 14th week in a row Christel along with Daniel Goddard take the number one position in the Reader’s Poll and that is due to the unwaivering support of LANE fans!

Speaking of LANE … did you hear that there will be another personal appearance weekend with Christel and Daniel Goddard? It’s happening in Greenwood, SC on August 4-5, 2012.

They will be hosting ” A Taste of the South” and it will be held at the Arts Center at the Federal Building in the heart of Uptown Greenwood.

Ticket pricing is $140.00 plus processing fee (per person) for the entire weekend events (no hotel included).

Weekend Ticket Package includes a Meet-n-Greet, Silent Auction on Saturday 1:00pm-3:00PM, Southern Style Dinner Buffet from 6:00pm-8:00PM on Saturday, Reception/Dance 8:00pm-11:00PM. Be sure to be “dressed to impress” during the Saturday dinner! The weekend will end with a Sunday Brunch along with a photo opportunity with Christel and Daniel from 12:00pm -2:00PM. Included with the package will be an 8×10 headshot of the stars.

Tickets can be purchased at EVENTBRITE. If you don’t think you can swing the entire weekend there are tickets for either Saturday or Sunday only available for purchase.

Tattoo and NCIS LA?  What do they have in common? What does it all mean?

CKnet: Is there a symbolism behind this tattoo?
Christel Khalil: The symbolism for this new one is because I’m a Christian and the whole thing is me being redeemed, so I got redemption!

CKnet: How many tattoos do you have and any plans for additional tattoos?
Christel: I have 5 tattoos and plan on getting one more on my side.

Guess who landed a guest starring role on NCIS LA? If you answered Christel Khalil then you would be correct. No air date as of yet however we will keep you updated. Shooting begins on Monday. CONGRATULATIONS, Christel!
